BUYING AT THE GREENERY

How do I buy recreational marijuana?

It’s easy! All you have to do is come see us at 208 Parker Avenue and bring your unexpired ID proving that you’re 21 or over.

What do I need to shop at The Greenery?

We’re a recreational-only location, so you don’t need a medical card, and all you need is an acceptable form of ID proving that you’re 21+.

What forms of ID do you accept?

We accept any form of government-issued identification that includes a photo, a birthdate, and isn’t expired. The most common form of ID we accept is a driver’s license (and yes, we accept them from out of state); passports and other forms are acceptable as well.

How do I shop for marijuana online?

All you need to do is click the big red button on our homepage that says, “shop now,” or click HERE. All the item categories such as “flower” or “edibles” are listed at the top for easy selection, and when you find what you want, simply put it in your cart. When you’re ready to complete your order, just click on the shopping cart icon on the top right of your screen, fill out all the customer information, and then click “place order.” We’ll get a notification here in our dispensary, we’ll fill your order, and then we’ll let you know when your order is ready for pickup, which usually takes only a few minutes. Then all you have to do is swing by to pick up and pay for your order (we cannot accept online payments), thereby skipping the line at the counter.

How does your Loyalty Program work?

It’s easy! You get one point per dollar spent after tax, and the points can be redeemed for wonderful rewards: 100 points will get you a 1g pre-roll for $1, and 500 points will get you any eighth in the store for $10; there are plenty of awesome rewards in-between as well.

You can joint our loyalty program while you’re shopping in our store on online HERE, but as a pro-tip, if you join our program by texting “JOIN DG420” to (970) 670-2575, you’ll receive a coupon that’s good for 20% off your entire order!

Can you deliver or ship marijuana products to me?

No. There are cannabis delivery services in Colorado’s larger cities such as Denver, but we don’t yet have them here in Durango. It’s also completely illegal to ship or deliver cannabis products out-of-state for any reason, or anywhere in-state, for that matter, so you’ll have to come see us!

Which forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, and debit cards thanks to our cashless ATM, but we also have an ATM on site.

Do you have any sales or specials?

Yes! We always have sales and specials, along with rotating Daily Deals. To see our Daily Deals, click HERE, and to see our monthly specials, click HERE.

Do you offer any Locals’ or Veterans’ discounts?

Yes! Just show us your driver’s license, because if you live here in Durango, or in one of our neighboring communities such as Bayfield or Hesperus, you’ll receive 10% off all full-priced items every day. And if you served in our armed forces, simply show us your military ID (or other proof, such as a DD214), and you’ll receive 20% off all full-priced items as a thank you for your service!

Can I return marijuana I purchased?

All marijuana purchases are final, and cannabis products cannot be returned to a dispensary for any reason. However, if you purchased a vape cartridge  or anything else that’s defective, simply bring it back along with the receipt within 48 hours. We’ll replace the defective cart after taking a look and send you on your way with a smile.

Do you sell any CBD-only products?

No. Some of our products have such a low level of THC that they likely won’t get you high, but all of our products are derived from marijuana, so there’s a trace amount of THC in all of them, meaning that none of them can be shipped or transported out-of-state, and there’s a chance that all of our products can show up on a drug test.

What are your hours and where are you located?

We’re located at 208 Parker Avenue Suite E, Durango, Colorado 81303 (Bodo Park). We’re open from 9am to 9:30pm on weekdays. We open at 10am on weekends, and we close at 9:30pm on Saturdays, and 7pm on Sundays.

Is The Greenery on social media?

Of course! On Instagram, we’re @durangogreenery, and on Facebook, we’re @wereyourbestbuds and @thehashfactory. Stop by and say “high” because we should be friends!

Is The Greenery hiring?

Just like all businesses, we’re looking for new team members sometimes, and sometimes, we’re not. GENERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT MARIJUANA

Where can I smoke marijuana?

Cannabis products can be consumed only on private property with the property owner’s permission. If you think about it, the rules for consuming marijuana are similar to those surrounding alcohol: you can’t walk down the street drinking a beer, nor can you walk down the street smoking a joint. This makes things tricky for tourists, but hotels are private property, and the only other thing you’ll need is the property owner’s permission. So, all you must do is go to the front desk at your hotel and ask if it’s okay to smoke marijuana in a designated area, or in your smoking room. I know it seems weird to walk up to a hotel receptionist and ask if it’s cool to smoke pot out front, but trust me, they get the same question hundreds of times daily, so they won’t think it’s weird at all.

How much of an edible should I consume?

If you’ve never consumed a cannabis edible, we recommend taking 5mg at most, and then waiting at least an hour and a half before consuming more. It can take a while for an edible to kick in, and once you eat it, you cannot un-eat it, so it’s best to “start low and go slow.” Consuming too much THC can be an uncomfortable experience, and most edibles in Colorado deliver 10mg per serving, so with these, it’s always best to at least cut the serving in half for a 5mg trial, or to cut the serving in quarters for a 2.5mg test serving.

Can I purchase marijuana for a friend?

Yes! So long as your friend is 21+, you can purchase anything you’d like for them as a gift.

How much cannabis can I buy at a time?

Per day, you’re allowed to purchase one ounce of flower, or 800 milligrams in edibles, or 8 grams of concentrate, or any combination of the three. We’ll always help you figure out your purchase limits because we simply cannot go over them, and because they’re a little tricky.

A good way to think about purchase limits would be to imagine a pie cut into 8 pieces. Each piece is worth on eighth of flower, or 100mg in edibles, or 1g in concentrate. So, for example, if you purchased 4 eighths of flower (which would be a half-ounce), you could still purchase 2 grams of hash and 2 100mg gummy packs. If you’d like clarification, please feel free to call us at any time: (970) 403-3710.

Can I travel with marijuana?

It’s illegal to fly with cannabis products because you’re in federally controlled airspace, and marijuana cannot cross state lines. But other than that, it’s perfectly legal to travel from point A to point B within Colorado.

How do I get a medical marijuana card?

Medical Marijuana Cards are issued by the state of Colorado only to Colorado residents along with a doctor’s recommendation. To start the process, click HERE.

What is on a marijuana warning label?

The labeling information varies from category to category: it will be different between edibles, vapes, flower, and topicals. We recommend familiarizing yourself with recreational marijuana product labels because they can contain all sorts of valuable information, including, but not limited to, potency information, expiration dates, serving size suggestions, and ingredients.

Can I give marijuana or CBD to my pets?

When a human takes a mind-altering substance such as marijuana, they expect to be intoxicated, so they understand the affects. But pets do not understand intoxicants, so the high that comes from marijuana can be very confusing and uncomfortable for an animal. We never recommend giving any of the products we sell to animals, and it’s always best to consult your veterinarian before giving your pets anything. And all the pet stores in Durango sell CBD products designed for pets, so we recommend visiting them for your pet needs and visiting us for your human needs.

Can I use my out-of-state medical marijuana card in Colorado?

We are a recreational-only dispensary, so all you need to shop  here is your unexpired government-issued ID proving that you’re 21+. But no, out-of-state medical marijuana cards are not yet accepted in any Colorado dispensary.

Does marijuana interact with my medications?

You’ll need to contact your primary care physician to get this question answered, and please do so because marijuana is mainstream and perfectly legal these days, so most doctors are willing to discuss it.

Will all your products show up on a drug test?

There’s a chance that all of the products we sell can be detected via a drug test.

WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?

What are concentrates?

Simply put, a cannabis concentrate is any form of concentrated cannabis. There are about a bazillion different kinds of concentrates, and to learn about each one, click HERE.

What is dabbing?

“Dabbing” is the slang term for smoking marijuana concentrates. It got it’s name because you smoke only a little “dab” at a time, and for an in-depth explanation as to exactly how it’s done, click HERE.

What is the difference between marijuana and hemp?

Scientifically speaking, there’s no difference whatsoever because both “hemp” and “marijuana” are the exact same species of plant. But legally speaking, “hemp” is cannabis with a THC percentage less than 0.3% by dry weight, as where “marijuana” is cannabis with a THC percentage greater than 0.3%.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are aromatic compounds that exist in all green, leafy plants, and marijuana is packed with them. They differ from strain to strain, which is why differing cannabis cultivars smell and taste differently. Terpenes are not psychoactive, but they may influence the way your high feels. This is too much of a complex issue to cover via a FAQ, so please click HERE for more information.

What is a marijuana vape?

When you smoke marijuana, you’re burning plant material and inhaling the smoke—when you vape marijuana, you’re boiling the oil and inhaling the vapor. Dry marijuana flower can be vaped in a specially designed vaporizer, but most commonly, people are referring to vape pens and cartridges that use concentrates marijuana oil when they discuss vaping. Click HERE for a more in-depth explanation.

What is the entourage effect?

This is the theory that CBD works better when it comes in concert with THC, or the notion that cannabinoids are more effective when coupled with terpenes.

What does full spectrum mean?

A full spectrum product contains all the cannabinoids and terpenes present in the flower from which said product was derived.

What is the difference between indica, hybrid, and sativa?

Frankly, not much. All three designations come from the same species of plant, so scientifically speaking, there’s no difference whatsoever. Phenotypically speaking, Indica varietals are short and squat plants with dark-green fan leaves, Sativa varietals are taller and skinnier with bright green fan leaves, and hybrid cultivars land somewhere in the middle. Colloquially speaking, Indica strains are thought to be relaxing, Sativa strains are thought to be energetic when you smoke them, and hybrid strains may give you the best of both worlds.

What is the difference between wax and shatter?

Shatter and wax are the two most traditional forms of BHO (butane hash oil), and they differ in appearance and texture only. Shatter is flat and transparent, and if it’s made properly, it shatters when broken, thus the name. Wax is fluffier so you get more volume per weight, and it’s called “wax” because it looks like candle wax and has roughly the same consistency. But believe it or not, they way they make wax is by whipping shatter with a cake beater before it solidifies. A good way to think about it is that shatter is like egg whites, as where wax is like meringue.

What is the difference between live resin and live rosin?

Both Live Rosin and Live Resin come from flash-frozen, freshly-harvested flower, but with Live Resin, butane is used in the extraction process, and with Live Rosin, only heat, pressure, and water are used for extraction. So, put simply, Live Rosin is solventless as where Live Resin is not.

How should I store my marijuana products?

In a cool, dark place, preferably in a lockbox so they’re safe from children (or roommates).

You must be at least 21 years old to visit this website.
